Relational Model of Evangelism What's So Special About Youth EE?

What Students and Leaders Say Scott Dressler, one of the Nyack Students, from the Philippines trip: "In all my study of
theology, for the first time I feel that I can truly
express God's gift of salvation in a simple and
understandable form. I have never felt so confident about
my own ability to share the Gospel, and I have rarely
been so excited about an evangelistic tool. It was an
incredible blessing , and a superb lesson in God's desire
to seek and save the lost, to see Him bring so many into
the kingdom in such a short time. I am eternally indebted
to those who have supported us through their prayers, for
they have supported me in a training which will be a
constant asset in my ministry." Rod Story, our Oceania Vice President: Hi Richard!!!, Greetings from Fiji. This will be very brief as it is very late(even for me) and I am totally exhausted. 2 clinics, 32 team members (teenagers at that) and 2 days to go. We are having an amazing time. Our God is truly an Awesome God. The first clinic had 135 clinicians! We saw 230 people come to Christ. Every team member saw professions! At our youth night we had 500 people. The second clinic is now under way. We have 130 clinicians including 6 Fijian trainers. We have clinicians from USA, Canada, Germany, Switzerland, England and New Zealand! We have had two OJTS so far and have seen 81 come to Christ. Tomorrow we have our second Youth night .Tony, Dave Paul and Joanna are doing the teaching this week and are doing really well. Anna (Rods 16 year old daughter) has led at least 16 Fijians to Christ. Praise God. Bye for now..............ROD From one of the E.E. workers in South Africa. "We had an elderly man attending the adult clinic (going on at the same time as our Youth clinic). He had been involved with EE for a number of years and therefore we used him as a team leader. On the first night he went to a block of flats (apartments I think you call them) and knocked from door to door. 13 times they were shown away. At the 14th door they were invited in and when the woman heard why they were there, she asked permission to fetch her Bible. She brought it back to the living room and said to them that she had started reading "that book" for the first time in her life that very morning. She had started to attend a church for the first time in her life two Sundays before. That evening she made a commitment to the Lord. Isn't it wonderful to see how the Lord works and to be part of His program?" From a clinician who attended the Youth clinic in Johannesburg: "Howzit!. Glad things are going great. I have witnessed to 3 people since the clinic, which is fantastic. I am really pumped up and positive about the future, and EEs part in my life. I was interviewed by a local newspaper today, about a book of poems I've published. I was asked some really tough questions and I could answer some of them with what I had learnt from the clinic. So that is a great testimony to the outside world." From the above guys twin sister, who also attended the Johannesburg clinic: "This past week has been such an amazing experience. I've never experienced something quite like it in all my life I believe that the Lord has been bringing many people onto their knees in South Africa. to their knees in prayer. "You've all beard about the Truth and Reconciliation committee, well I have wondered about this, because how can a nation that has never been conciled in the first place, be reconciled? I know now that the only way this 'Rainbow Nation' can be reconciled is to be conciled in Jesus first. I have realized for the first time this week that God is 'flooding this nation with grace and mercy'. He has shown me just how amazingly He does answer our prayers. For me it is sometimes difficult to persevere because sometimes it seems like nothing changes. But this week the Lord showed me differently. I thank Him for letting me be part of something so AWESOME. It was such an encouragement for me. I haven't come across such an atmosphere of optimism and encouragement before, and it was really uplifting to be part of such a fantastic group of people. I know He has big plans for us all. For the American Team, you are just as much a part of this wonderful revival that God is bringing to this nation as any South African. A lot of you said that you haven't experienced such an openness in Florida, but remember, if the Lord can turn a broken country like ours around, then He can certainly do it in America!" Some comments from students who were on teams: "I know that I now have brothers and sisters all over the world" "I had to go overseas to see the real need at home" "I thank God for giving me the words of eternal life! With Youth E.E. I have seen God do amazing things here in Papua new Guinea, because people are getting trained in how to share their faith and have a new confidence in telling their friends, family and strangers about Jesus. It is so awesome to see people get excited about sharing their faith! I feel confident that the nation of Papua New Guinea is moving closer to revival, as more people are becoming equipped to share their faith." "Its awesome when you go to a country like New Zealand where 5% are Christians and Youth E.E. has never been established here I can't begin to explain the ways this trip has changed me Thanks E.E. from all those you've reached, and all those you've teached (especially me)." "Before E.E. I had no idea how to share my faith. Now I have a wonderful, structured training. Before this trip my commitment to evangelism was nominal. Now I go back with a calling to share my faith at home. I not only have the method for telling others, but I also now have the desire. There is only one question we need to ask ourselves, have I effectively shared the Gospel with at least one person this week?. I have!"BACK |
